AC Milan-Atalanta, probable lineups
Today at 18:00 CET, at San Siro, AC Milan host Atalanta, a long-awaited match between two teams that have the same number of points in the standings (24). Both are desperate for a win.
Gennaro Gattuso will confirm the 4-3-3 formation, despite Silvio Berlusconi’s advise to return to the old 4-3-1-2. In defense, instead of Alessio Romagnoli, suspended, Mateo Musacchio will take his place. For Gattuso it was a tough choice between the Argentine and Zapata. The back line will be completed by Ignazio Abate (favorite over Davide Calabria), Leonardo Bonucci and Ricardo Rodriguez. Between the posts, obviously, Gigio Donnarumma.
In midfield Gattuso should confirm the usual trio Franck Kessie, Riccardo Montolivo and Giacomo Bonaventura. Lucas Biglia will again start from the bench. The offensive trio should be composed of Fabio Borini on the right instead of the suspended Suso, Patrick Cutrone on the left, both in support of centre forward Nikola Kalinic. Hakan Calhanoglu is not yet 100% fit.
Atalanta, coached by Gian Piero Gasperini, will oppose Milan with a 3-4-1-2 game system. In defense the trio Toloi-Caldara-Masiello in front of Berisha. In midfield Hateboer and Spinazzola on the wings, while Freuler and former Rossonero Bryan Cristante will act in midfield. Josip Ilicic will be the one to support the duo Papu Gomez-Petagna.
AC Milan (4-3-3) – Donnarumma; Abate, Musacchio (Zapata), Bonucci, Rodriguez; Kessié, Montolivo, Bonaventura; Borini, Cutrone, Kalinic.
Atalanta (3-4-1-2) – Berisha; Toloi, Caldara, Masiello; Hateboer, Freuler, Cristanza, Spinazzola; Ilicic, Gomez; Petagna.
